Well hello there!! My name is Mindy, and I am pleased to make you acquaintance. I am a very special girl, at least that is what my foster mom says. I am an "honorary shepherd", I think I have some shepherd in me, I am black and tan after all. I am about 4 years old, and weigh about 60 pounds, so I am nice and compact. I have a nice thick coat that is pretty soft. I am very sweet and very gentle. I just love to snuggle, so if you are looking for someone to curl up on the couch with you and watch movies, I'm your gal!! I'd be tickled if you would share the popcorn. I am a bit shy initially, but warm up to new people fairly quickly. I have a habit of sitting beside my person and just leaning into them for attention. I am a very well behaved girl. I am house trained, crate trained, walk well on a leash, and I don't even bark very much. I also ride very well in the car. So what do you say?? How would you like to meet a little snuggle bug like me?? I'll be waiting!!

Mindy is a gem of a dog! Mindy and Sasha (who we think is her daughter) came from a shelter in KY. It was quite a journey, but well worth it for such a sweet dog. We are not quite sure what kind of a mix she is, but are guessing something in the "herding" category...perhaps some Australian shepherd or English shepherd? Mindy has a wonderful temperament. She is a bit shy, but quite friendly once she gets to know you. She will trot happily about with her tail wagging softly. Mindy is a very gentle soul, very happy for a bit of attention, yet not demanding in the least. She has very soulful eyes, and loves to just lay on the dog bed (or couch) and watch you. Mindy is shy and submissive around other dogs...she was actually quite terrified of the other dogs in the house for several days. She would roll over onto her back anytime one of the other dogs approached her. She is doing much better now, and has seemed to recognize that they will not hurt her. Mindy would do fine with another calm and friendly dog. I think she will be great around children as well, as she has a very gentle and calm demeanor. If Mindy gets uncomfortable she just heads to her crate...it is her comfort zone. Mindy will make a great addition for some lucky family. Come and meet Mindy soon, she won't last long!
