Hi, I’m Dorrie, you know, like the Dory in Finding Nemo except for the spelling. Yup, that’s how I got my name…… Anyway, I was picked up as a stray in Pitt County and thankfully these awesome people were able to help an old girl out. Well, actually I’m not old, I’m maybe 6-8 yrs young! I’m a great girl, I’m house trained, good with kids, cats and dogs and quite a looker if I don’t say so myself I do get a little stressed out at feeding time if there are too many dogs around, mom has resorted to feeding me on her back porch and she’s very happy I’m eating everything she gives me, she says I need to be “fattened up” anyway. Now, the crate trained deal, yeah, that didn’t work so well, I’m not fond of a crate so while you may be able to keep me in one for a while be prepared because while you’re at work all day or out having fun I’m concentrating on how to get out of that thing and believe you me I usually figure out a way. I’m not crazy about baby gates or barriers either, I prefer to have the run of the house and be right beside you at all times. I am very good in the house though so if you dislike crates as much as I do then we’d be a perfect pair! I don’t chew or mess in the house and I don’t counter surf or get on the furniture. Of course my back legs don’t work quite as good as they used to but I can get around pretty quickly when I want to. Actually mom started giving me rimadyl each day and that has helped more than you can know, I can run and play and have a grand old time. Now I know you may think that’s a bad thing but it really isn’t, at least not in comparison to the love I could bring you by being me! I love attention, I even fall asleep sometimes while mom rubs my head, she thinks it’s pretty funny but that’s just how much I love it. I love being outside and going for car rides, I do pull on a leash so if you’re up for teaching me cool stuff I’m all yours! Oh, and one last thing, I get a little ansy during thunder storms, nothing serious but I may pace a little until it passes. So, what do you say, wanna help an old girl out??
