German Shepherd Dog : : Female (spayed)
(About 2 years old) Good with kids, cats, and dogs.
Please meet Annie. Annie is a very special dog that roamed the country side running up to cars desperately seeking her owner and help. She was emaciated, covered in ticks, fur fallen out, bloody paws, dehydrated, and had recently delivered a litter when she finally found that help. She knew no commands and didn’t really even know how to play or chase a ball. One month later Annie is turning into a real beauty. She loves playing and is even learning to catch a Frisbee! She is working hard to learn her basic commands and is very receptive to positive reinforcement and love. She loves play wrestling with her foster sister, and is interested, but wary of the house cats. She will give them a single “woof” hello when no one is looking. Another of Annie’s favorite past times is collecting. Currently she collects shiny things. We find salt shakers, spoons, nail clippers, silver pens, and more tucked lovingly (and unharmed) in her bed. Annie has not yet learned to feel secure in a kennel but sleeps well through the night in her bed. Annie does get very upset when unexpectedly left or separated from her people or animal foster family. She would do well in a home with another dog and a family that has the time and interest in training her to be all that German Shepherd dogs can be!
