If you are looking for the perfect family companion then look no further - Roxie is your girl! She is fun-loving, ready and willing to go on any adventure with you and the perfect ambassador for the German Shepherd breed when out in public. We guestimate Roxie to be anywhere between 5 and 7 years old - as with most rescues we really aren't sure, but her energy level and athleticism makes us think that she is on the younger end of that age spectrum.

Roxie's 3 main loves in life are: people, balls and water...preferably in that order. She is a true GSD in that she would much rather hang with people rather than other dogs. She lacks doggie social skills and so tends to be a little awkward around other dogs. In addition, she really doesn't seem to have much in common with them...well, apart from the fur, the long tongue and a love of dog kibble. For these reasons we really believe that Roxie would be happiest as an only dog in an active family that plans on taking their furry friend everywhere with them. She loves cruising in the car and she loves going for walks, so an outdoorsy type of family who enjoys hikes and spending time outside would be ideal.

Roxie is a very curious dog whose mind is always working. Even when relaxing on the couch in the evening, she has a ball or a chewie near by to help occupy her mind and mouth. Roxie is very smart (aren't all GSDs??) and learns new commands and rules very quickly. She'll pretty much do anything for you if you promise to throw the ball for her once you are done with training!

Roxie gets along with all humans both young and old, but slightly older children would probably be better as she is quick when grabbing her ball and little fingers could accidentally get in the way! She is excellent with cats and if she ever gets a little rambunctious with them either a swat with their sharp claws or a gentle reminder from her people and she backs off.

Roxie's main goal in life is to make her human's happy. She is an extremely happy, goofy girl who gets the most out of life, no matter what she is doing. She is an absolute joy to live with and will always keep you laughing with her playful antics.

Roxie is waiting patiently for her forever family to come along. She knows you're out there somewhere...... :)
