Whoosh! Zoom! Whiz! Is it a bird...a plane...? Nope, it's a Malinois-Husky puppy! Meet Luca, the copper-colored comet who's here to steal your heart. At 14 months old, this Mal-Husky mix might have had a rough start, arriving undernourished and wary of people, but thanks to GSRA he's now getting the nutrition, care, and love that he deserves. While we're helping him gain weight, Luca will always be on the lean side. For now, he needs to be fed separately from other dogs and outside of his crate.
Once Luca learns to trust you, he becomes a total lovebug. Since he's still very much a puppy, and part Malinois, he sometimes shows affection with his mouth - but don't worry, obedience training will help him grow into the well-mannered boy we know he can be. As a mix of two intelligent, high-energy breeds, Luca is smart, vocal, and full of life! He's the ultimate lifestyle dog, needing a physically active household with someone who understands the Malinois spirit. Mental and physical exercise is a daily must for him.
Luca thrives in the company of other dogs, especially an older dog who can be a playmate and help him learn the ropes. He loves his walks and is working on mastering leash manners - it's still a work in progress. With a fenced yard or open land, he'll be in his element, sprinting around and playing tug, tag, and keep away with his forever brother or sister. Dog parks? Not his thing. But at home, he's a champion playmate and loves a good game of chase!
This clever boy is crate trained and settles down nicely when crated while you're out. Luca is also housebroken - he's never had an accident in his foster home. He really craves companionship, so an ideal home would be with someone who works from home, is retired, or spends lots of time at home. Occasionally, the Husky in him will burst out into the song of his people, expressing his feelings in the most melodious way. Luca is truly one of a kind. With patience, affection, and a little guidance, he'll reward you with years of love, loyalty, and endless laughable antics. If you're ready to be his leader and give him the life he deserves, Luca is ready to bring joy, adventure, and a lot of heart into your home.
