ALORA ~3 months old. Good with dogs and cats. Kids TBD.
GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.
"Alora" means "my light" and that is exactly how we feel about this little princess. She is still very much a young puppy learning the world and needing more time and attention than an older dog, but she has truly been a puppy on "easy mode" for her foster. Alora loves to meet other people and dogs and has learned to sit for pets. She is sweet and playful but understands boundaries from her older foster sibling dogs. She has been friendly but disinterested in the cat at her foster home.
Alora is one of the most clever puppies her foster has worked with. She grasped potty training so quickly and just needs someone to take her out in time, but she has already outgrown potty breaks overnight (meaning more sleep for her future adopter!). Alora is very much in the teething stage but has an impressive understanding of toy vs. not toy. She knows to sit for meals and to be let outside. She loves the leash but her big baby paws still get a little tangled.
Alora could go to a first time GSD owner, so long as they are committed to continued training (Alora will love this!), socialization, and have the food budget for a large dog. Alora is just shy of 30 lb at only 11 weeks of age! She would do well with other playful dogs but also probably do well as an only dog. Alora would make an amazing travel companion because she falls right asleep as soon as the car starts moving.
PLEASE NOTE: It is GSRA policy that we do not adopt dogs under the age of 1 year to families with children under the age of 8 years old.
