Did you know that dogs named Boomer tend to be loving, good-natured, brave, and resilient. It’s also associated with companionship, and courage. Boy, did Boomer nail it. It couldn’t be a more fitting name for him. Boomer is a wonderful loving pup. He has been friendly with the people he has met and with his personality, I believe he would do fine with older considerate kids. This boy LOVES to play ball and tug-of-war. He loves going for walks and car rides. He rides like a dream in the car.
He has done well with my other dogs (male/female) but would probably do better with a female. He is a little unsure when he first meets a dog, so a slow intro is needed. I normally take him for a walk when he meets a new dog, and he is usually fine by the time the walk is over. Boomer would love a companion that he could play with, but they don’t have to be high energy.
Boomer has free reign 24/7 with my other pups and has been wonderful in the house. He knows some basic commands and does okay on a leash but will need someone who will continue to work with him. He is food and ball motivated so that is always a bonus. He will need someone who enjoys engaging the mind of their pup (ex: scent work, search, etc). He will chase his tail if he gets bored.
I know you are wondering how on earth this boy ended up in a rescue. Boomer came from a breeder. He was the only survivor out of the litter. They had him for about 13 months and finally found someone to take him. After about a week, they gave him to another person, who then contacted a lady about rescuing him a couple of days later before they dumped him off at the shelter. Why, you ask – well it’s b/c he had diarrhea, and no one wanted/cared enough to get him the care he needed. He was infested with parasites and has been getting treatment to get them all taken care of. Thankfully, he is clear now but will need to be monitored just to be sure they don’t flare up.
Boomer would love a family who was home more than not, as he loves his people. He would love a companion to play and hang out with. He will need a fenced yard. Most of all, he would love a family who would love him forever and not mind being showered with love.
Do you think this sweet loving boy may be the one you are searching for?
