WILSON ~1 year old. Good with kids and dogs. Cats TBD. GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only Hi! I'm Wilson! I really am! I think I love you! Do you like to play? OH, I DO! You can believe that! What's your favorite thing? Oh, I love that too--can I have it? I know a trick-- I can 'Sit'! Do you have any treats? From Foster: Wilson is amazing and you can't be around him for 5 minutes without falling in love. He came to GSRA from Richmond Co. Animal Shelter where he was found wandering as a loose stray, but he has been someone's well-loved puppy. He is most likely around 11~14 months old, weighs about 55lbs and will probably be around 65 when mature. He is housebroken, crate trained and he adapted quickly to the foster's 'no dogs on the furniture' policy. He responds quickly and appropriately to a corrective "NO!". Wilson is sweet and affectionate. He is completely non-reactive to other dogs. He has a strong prey drive and squirrels are in serious peril-- cats are untested. He may well be ok with a family cat once he learns it is not a squirrel. Caution would be in order. He has a very gentle temperament, but an iron spine when needed-- he will not be ruled around by our 90lb, 4yr old GSD. He will stand up for himself when he needs to. Wilson is very smart and very trainable. He is exceptionally food-motivated and can be a bit of an opportunist if things are near a counter edge. Wilson has a very high energy level and needs a fenced yard and plenty of opportunity for exercise. He is very curious and investigates Everything. All he wants to do is play and snuggle! He loves squeaky toys! He is doing well in our multi-dog home as he tests our more mature GSD's patience for non-stop play. If he moves to an 'only-dog' household, it will require considerable energy to keep him entertained and stimulated. If he does not have another dog to play with, he will unquestionably find other ways to keep himself entertained. He is not destructive and we have found his house manners to be beyond reproach, but Anything and Everything portable does hold the potential to become a toy! The floor of our home is littered with dog-appropriate toys, and with a few exceptions these have kept him engaged, but Wilson will not suffer boredom! Wilson is a charming loveable puppy, and he will mature into a remarkable and rewarding family member-- he is a great dog!
