Look out folks! This stunningly beauty is looking for a home of her own. Her name is Charleigh, and she is a very pretty and fluffy GSD/husky/retriever mix as far as we can tell/guess. Not much is known about her past...she was picked up as a stray and has not been able to vocalize the circumstances that led to her incarceration at the local shelter. Charleigh is a very happy, friendly, and outgoing girl. The shelter volunteers advocated strongly for her, so she cam into the rescue.
Charleigh is approximately 2 years old. She has an exceptionally soft and fluffy coat. She also has a great smile! She has one blue eye and one brown eye (dueling genetics!) which give her a very unique look! She weighs about 50 pounds....the fluffieness makes her look bigger than she is.
Charleigh is a total lovebug....she adores people and love nothing better than to be petted, cuddled, and praised by her people. One of her more endearing qualities is whGn she sits in front of you and will lean into you for a bear hug and attention. She would make a great therapy dog as I think she would excel at the training...she has most of the behavior neeeded, just needs to learn not to jump up suddenly when she gets excited. She is a rather energetic girl that loves to play ball and also just loves to run. She runs fast! She gets the "zoomies" and will charge around the yard at full speed, making various items in the yard her own personal obstacle course! She love to run and corner and change directions abruptly! She has a blast! She will need a fenced yard to be able to play ball and get her energy out!
Charleigh seems pretty tolerant and non reactive to other dogs when on leash, but a bit socially awkward in setting when she tries to play with them. Charleigh seems to be lacking in doggie etiquette manners. She tries to engage in play by jumping up and popping other dogs with her paws (a husky play style). However, if she gets corrected by another dog she tends to over react and get defensive. She would need some work on dog socializing in playgroups to learn appropriate behavior. She would be perfectly happy as an only dog as she is more interested in people than dogs. We are not sure how she feels about cats.
Charleigh is meeting potential families, but will not be placed until she get treated for heartworms! She is a fantastic girl!!
