Hello world! My name is Jax, and I am a big hunk of a boy looking for a new home of my own. I am really big and burly fellow....I weigh 95 pounds. I could maybe lose a few, but I really am just a very solid dog by nature. I have a really thick and fluffy coat, with stunning tan and red highlights. I am a very friendly guy, and love all people. I am a very stable and well adjusted fellow. I am about 5.5 years old.

A bit about my background: I was taken in by an older couple when I was about a year old. They saved me from a bad situation. I have been well cared for and loved. I lived with 2 cats and 2 chihuahuas. I I have also been around toddlers and small children as my owners daughter and family spent quite a bit of time visiting and lived with me for several months. I am a peaceful guy. Unfortunately, my original owner has been fighting illness for the past 3 years, and is now unable to care for me due to physical limitations and a few other variables. Now wanting me to end up in a shelter, or risk rehoming me herself, she reached out to the rescue for help.

I have had a great time at my foster home. I enjoy having a fenced yard to run around in, and I really like the fact that there are some dogs here that will actually play with me! How fantastic! I do not run too quickly right now as I was not very active in my previous home....the yard was not fenced, and my mom could not walk me too far because she was sick. However, I am getting a bit more nimble as I get more used to exercise. If you are looking for a running buddy I am not your guy....I am built like a linebacker not a running back. I prefer a few nice walks or a bit of playing in the yard. After that I am content to chill out in the house. I have very good house manners. I am quiet, housebroken, and non-destructive. I am the full package!! I am such a happy guy, you can't help but fall in love with my personality. I LOVE attention! I will happily kiss your face and lick your hand. I will also shamelessly roll over for a belly rub. I also ride well in the car. I do need a bit of work on my leash manners.....my foster mom says I pull a lot...(I do not have much experience on a leash). However, if you use a prong collar I am very well behaved. I learn quickly. I am also a fairly quiet guy...I do not bark unless there is a real compelling reason to vocalize! I also do well in a crate, although I don't really need one.

I would love a home with a few other companion animals and some people to give me lots of love. I promise I will be good and give you lots of love and laughter in return!
