Let me start by saying Merlin is the sweetest dog you’d ever want to meet. He is good with everyone and is generally well behaved unless he’s bored. He’s been trained and generally listens. He loves other animals (cats and dogs) and people and his favorite pastime is running on the treadmill. Now let me explain why I am working to find him a new home. A year ago our lab passed from cancer and she was the alpha. She showed him the ropes and he was happy. We don’t have a fenced yard, but we would take them out and the two of them would play in the yard and have fun. Now he always has to be on a leash or he takes off through the neighborhood. He’s just been lost since she’s been gone. He really needs to find a home with another dog Who can take that place for him. I love him very much, but ultimately want him to be happy and with the way he mopes anymore, I just don’t think he is. But I know there is the right family out there for him.
