German Shepherd Dog : : Male (neutered)

~6 months old. Good with dogs, not good with kids and TBD with cats.

Ernie is a 6mo purebred German Shepherd puppy. He LOVES other dogs and plays very well with big and small dogs. He might do well with a dog-savvy cat with a slow introduction. He walks well on the leash, rides well in the car, is completely potty trained and trustworthy in the house. He knows basic commands, has a great off-leash recall, and is great in his crate. With his family and the people he is comfortable around, he is loving, goofy, playful, and listens very easily.
Ernie is extremely people shy and is defensive around strangers, therefore, he needs a home with German Shepherd experience that is structured and willing to do very slow introductions to new people. He would do great in a home with few guests, preferably with a confident yet playful dog (or multiple dogs!) that he could play with and would help him not be so shy. His ideal situation would be hanging at home with his people and playing with another dog or chewing on his toys while you watch Netflix and maybe a daily walk in the neighborhood. He is not an "adventure dog" per say; he prefers to stay home and spend time with you to going out to a crowded restaurant. If this sounds like your perfect dog please reach out! Keep in mind that he will take a lot of patience and love at first while he bonds with you because he is extremely fearful of people, but once you put in the time to let him slowly get used to you, you'll have a lifelong shadow and soulmate! He is neutered and microchipped and will come with a crate, bed, bowls, toys, leash, and anything else he'll need.
