HOPE ~5 years old.  Good with kids, dogs, and cats.  Good with seniors/elderly.  Needs a companion animal.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

My little Christmas angel, Hope. She is an absolute delight. Hope's story starts as a GSRA dog and continues to get better and better. She is a petite sheppie who is on her way to gaining weight and re growing her coat now that she's a GSRA girl. She's way too light at 44 lbs., but now has regular, healthy meals in a warm & loving home. I think a healthy weight for her would be in the the 55-60lb. range.

I limit her time outside with the cold temps, she doesn't need to burn the calories and her coat hasn't grown completely back. She does like to be outside with her sister to zoom around the yard on a nice day. I'll give her more time as she becomes more healthy, as for now she is content lounging on the couch in the house. Hope has lovely house manners, and will politely step outside for potty breaks. A previous foster home with the Humane Society reports she will not potty on a leash, and therefore will need a fenced yard. She will politely take care of business like the lady she is, and will wait at the door to be let back in.

She gets along beautifully with my other dogs. The previous foster reported she likes kittens. I can completely see it, she is very maternal. She's inquisitive if someone barks or whines and is quick to comfort them if necessary, or put them in place with a bark if they're being rowdy.

We are working on leash walking, and she'll get it, but for now we're in a tangle and can't decide which side to walk on. She enjoys rides in the car, and may whine at first, but she'll be more confident with time.

Her heart is very kind and I can see the stress has come off her face. We are very fortunate to be her family. We are looking for a home that will continue to provide a quiet home with full bowls, a soft couch, a warm bed, and endless love.
