Scout is a highly active GSD, lots of energy. He has some aggressive tendancies. He is very good with me and my 2 daughters ages 6 and 8, but does not do well with my wife for reasons we cannot determine. He is fairly good on a leash, understands many commands with the use of a electric collar. He spent 3 weeks at the Sit Means Sit training school in Raleigh. Admittedly, we have not kept up with the training nor do we use the collar daily.

Overall, he does not do well when meeting strangers. He is socialized twice a week at Apex Town and Country doggy daycare where he plays with other dogs and the employees and does very well with them. Around the neighborhood on his leash he will bark at other dogs and occasionally people. I keep him on a short leash on walks and avoid others that want to come up to him to pet him. So some of his fear of people could be caused by the fear I have of his reaction while on a leash.

Very playful and my girls adore him and he loves them back. If you are interested in a GSD with high drive and the need for proper training, this might be the dog for you.
