LUPA ~3 years old. Good with kids, dogs and most cats.
GSRA only adopts in VA, NC and SC.
Lupa was found with male (Cole) and two pups. When found, she was only 47 lbs...now she is about 60 lbs. She had very few house manners, even though she was and is completely house broken. Since coming into the rescue she has learned “sit,” “come,” “down,” “off,” and “stay”. We are also working on leash manners because she is so VERY excited to go out and see the world.
She is not much of a ball catcher, but boy does she LOVE LOVE LOVE squeaky toys. She also loves water and she jumped into the first pond that she saw! She loves going for car rides and racing around the yard as well (and if there's a squirrel to chase, so much the better!). While Lupa is not a puppy, she definitely needs some active time during the day to work off her energy. Walking, running, doggie-wrestling, or training are all great ways to wear her out! Her foster dad has remarked a few times, while watching her run laps around the yard, that she would make an excellent agility dog! She is not a go-go-go dog all the time though. She makes a great couch potato when you need to just sit and relax.
Lupa is crate trained. She will, however, try to convince you that she'd be much more comfortable anywhere else. She gets a treat when she goes in and knows she has to be quiet in order to get out of the crate. She also does well with free roam of the house, though her new family will need to reinforce door boundaries as she would be happiest to run right out the door with you when it's time to go! She is very smart, though, and picks up on expectations quickly.
Lupa is a super sweet and loving dog. She has never met a stranger and is happy to get attention from any human she can find. She does great with her 7 and 10 year old human foster brothers, though they have been taken out by a flying paw or two in her excitement to walk them to school in the mornings. She is also very touch-oriented in showing affection. She will attempt to climb into your lap when she feels she is not getting enough attention and when you wake up in the morning. She does not lick her humans much, but she loves to cuddle!
What do you say? Can you spare some room in your home and heart for an absolute sweetheart like Lupa? You won't regret it!!!
