German Shepherd Dog (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young
BRAVO ~1 year old. Good with dogs and kids over 16. Not good with cats. Needs a companion animal and a fenced yard. Meet Bravo, a one year old long haired German shepherd. He is a very sweet boy with lots of positive energy - you can never have a bad day with him around. He is a clown, has super puppy energy and loves to play. He has basic obedience and walks well on a leash, enjoying two mile walks each day with his foster pack. Bravo loves other dogs and would enjoy having a medium/ large sized companion dog who also loves rambunctious play. He can tend to play a bit rough so definitely needs a hearty pal who can keep up. He enjoys a good game of chase with his friends. Bravo enjoys going to doggie daycare and playing with his buddies. He usually picks his 'friend of the day' and runs in and out encouraging others to join in the fun and frolic. At daycare he is described as a ’social butterfly’ with both people and dogs. He is much sought after by the daycare staff because he enjoys his cuddles in between play time with friends.
Bravo loves people and is quite social. He’s never met a person he didn’t want to say hello to and will endear himself to them to get maxium love and attention. Bravo does not like to be left outside by himself and always wants to be with his people. He is definitely a ‘velcro’ dog and wants to go everywhere you go. His big wet nose has to be in everything in true German shepherd fashion. Considering all of that puppy energy Bravo does settle down nicely especially if it's for cuddles and pets! He’s always up for a good TV movie with his favorite chew toy. He is a bit of a lounge lizard after a day of running and socializing. He has a stunning, silky long coat that is so enjoyable to pet, and believe it or not, he sheds less than most other shepherd coats. As an added bonus, he does enjoy being groomed.
Our requirements to adopt this gem of a dog are: EXPERIENCED dog owner family who understands and is familiar with the the breed (he is not appropriate for first time dog owners). A secure fence yard is A MUST to give him ample space to run and play safely (especially with his favorite orange squeaky ball!). We will not consider families with children under 16 or with smaller dogs or cats. Bravo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, on monthly heart worm preventative, microchipped, crate trained and basic obedience trained.
