YOGI ~2 years old.  Good with dogs. No Children. Needs a companion animal. Cats TBD.

GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only

Let me introduce you to this sweet fellow Yogi. Not the Yogi Bear who is smarter than the average bear :~) but he does love those "pic-a-nic baskets" just as much . Yogi’s est. age was 2 but he acts younger. Lol He is a fun loving goofy boy once he knows you. He is very playful and loves playing with his canine sister. He loves going for walks, hikes in the woods and car rides. He rides very well in the car. He will need slow intros with both people and dogs.

Yogi has free reign in the house 24/7 and does pretty well. As long as I keep things picked up (which I should anyway), I don’t have a problem. I do keep the kitchen blocked off b/c he does like to counter surf. Boy does this fellow LOVE food. He was picked up as a stray so I guess it’s understandable. He gets very excited when it is time to eat. It’s almost like he has a hard time controlling his excitement but he is learning. Lol Once they finish eating, Yogi heads over to his foster sister’s bowl and picks it up and will carry it around. I guess he think she’s going to leave him a little snack for later but he doesn’t know her too well. Her bowl is as clean as his is.

Yogi walks pretty well on a leash and is working on some basic commands. He will need someone who will continue to work with him. Since he is VERY food motivated it will make training easier. I think he would jump over the moon if he thought there’d be a treat on the other side. Since he is very playful he would do best in a home with a playful companion and a fenced yard.

Yogi is a wonderful boy once he gets to know you.  He does require very slow intros for both human and dogs. He can be leash reactive until he feels comfortable. Because of this a home without children will only be considered.  He will require a home with an experienced owner and someone willing to work and help socialize him.

So do you think this handsome boy might be the one for you?
