LEXI ~3-4 years old.  Good with older considerate children and dogs.  Not good with cats.

Say Hi to Lexi! This girl had a rough start to her life. She was tied to a tree and abandoned by her owner with only some water. Thankfully a neighbor noticed she was on her own and contacted the Davidson County Animal Alliance . After animal control assessed the situation they released her to our care. Lexi is 3-4 y/o. She was recently spayed and has been provided all her shots. She did test positive for heart worms but no worries she is currently receiving treatment and will need to continue until she tests negative and then continue on monthly prevention.

She is your typical GSD personality, extremely loyal, attentive and smart. She currently is living with 3 other GSD’s and a black lab. She loves to romp and play with my black lab. She absolutely loves to ride in cars and will make every effort to jump in when a car door is open. She is potty trained, crate trained and also understands many commands like sit, down and come. She walks well on a leash. When being introduced to a new pack, she appears to be fearful that the other dog may jump on her, so she generally barks and growls when she meets the new dog but then settles down when she knows they will not attack her. She is fine around older children. She probably would do best in a home without cats. Lexi needs someone who will have patience with her. She is a kind-hearted dog but needs extra love so she can learn to trust again. You may notice the tips of her ears are not pointed. When we found her - her ears were full of flies and other insects that ate the tips off. They have been successfully treated and no longer require any medical attention. If you would like to meet her and potentially adopt her, please fill out an application and submit to the GSRA.
