LEIA ~4 years old.  Good with older considerate children and dogs.  Not good with cats or small dogs.

GSRA Adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.

Leia is a big girl with a true “Go get ‘em” attitude! … Are you ready for a walk? ─ Yeah! Is it time to eat? ─ Alright! Now it’s time to relax and catch up on our shows? ─ Let’s do it!!!

Leia is a sweet young adult with a lot of spirit but she is also a couch potato and snuggle bug. She is very nimble and gentle (surprising at her large size) when she is sharing space with you.

Excited to play, but takes correction well from other dogs that she knows. She is eager to please. Needs work on leash commands but takes direction well

Leia is always ready to explore the great outdoors, but is also a good companion for relaxing on the couch, happily chewing away at a nylabone on the floor, or curling up next to you in bed. She doesn't snore and is a large bed warmer ─ just in time for cooler weather! She may love exploring outside, but she is absolutely accustomed to many comforts inside the home. Leia is obviously used to having full range of couches and seems very at home in beds. If this is not a habit you are fond of she has been borrowing her foster sister’s doggie bed and enjoys stretching out in that as well.

She enjoys carrots, apples, car rides, large nylabones, and cuddles. She gets along splendidly with her two foster sisters and reacts appropriately when they assert their boundaries.

In true shepherd fashion, she likes to keep tabs on you. She won’t beg for food, but she also won’t mind if something happens to fall in her directions.
