Foster Diary

Hi everyone, I’m Parker, I got that name because my foster mom says I’ll “park” it right next to you to get all the love I can. I love to be loved and to chill out at your feet. I have a similar story to a lot of dogs on here I guess. I was in a shelter and was really skinny and neglected. I’ve been in foster for about 3 months and look how beautiful I am now! I am house trained, kennel trained and walk very nicely on a leash unless I see a cat…..and then well, you know how it is….I really want to catch one some day. My hips aren’t 100% so I really need to go to a home that is lower key. But they have gotten so much better since someone took some time to nurse me back to health.

My ideal home would be one where my people are home a lot to give me lots of attention; I’d really like a fenced back yard too. I would give all the love I possess to that special person out there. I am very alert to changes in my home and will let you know when people come over. I get along with other dogs and I like children too, even so, I think I would rather be in a home that has older kids that won’t be so rough on me. If you are looking for a more laid back dog, I’m the one for you!

Hi, Parker’s foster mom here. Parker is an awesome dog. He is mellow in the house unless my girl gets him riled up to play with her. He doesn’t jump up on furniture and is learning his inside manners very nicely. He knows his basic commands too, but most importantly; this dog has a heart the size of Texas. He loves his people very much and wants to be petted and cuddled all the time. He has learned to be crated very nicely and we have not had a single accident in the house either. I think he would do well in a home where they are looking for a good companion that will give you all the love you could ever want. He is so excited to see his people in the evening and will glue himself to your side, and nudge you if you forget to pet him. Parker has come a long way; he was in extremely bad shape when he came into the foster program and now he is simply beautiful. He is a happy boy now and looking for that deserving family that will be his perfect fit. He does have problems with his hips, but it sure doesn’t slow him down any, he bounces like a bunny. He is not good with cats, but other dogs are fine. He loves his foster sister and they play very nicely together. Will you be the one to see what this dog’s love will mean to you?
