Foster Diary

Odin is a polar bear! He is big, white, and loves to swim!! Wherever his forever home is, they better have a kiddie pool. Especially in these hot summer days, Odin loves to dunk his whole head in and splash around just like a polar bear. In addition to his kiddie pool, Odin loves chasing tennis balls and playing with other big dogs.

Odin himself is a big dog, so it's better if his playmates are on the larger side because sometimes he forgets just how big he is. When inside, Odin is fully housebroken and listens to what he is told. He is still learning how to be an indoor dog. For the first 2 years of Odin's life, he was confined to a bathroom without windows. Before coming to GSRA, he spent 6 months in a musty garage. As a result, Odin's back and rear leg muscles were severely underdeveloped. He has made great improvements in foster care but still tires easily and needs regular exercise and a little extra glucosamine in his diet. Also, Odin has had a checkered past with men and can be distrustful at first. But with a little convincing, he'll believe anyone is his friend. He really likes children, but is still learning to be gentle and respectful around them. Odin's foster home has 2 disabled cats that he is very, very interested in. He has never tried to hurt them, but loves to be up close and personal. His foster mom believes that with a conscientious owner and some time, Odin will get bored and live peacefully with his cat siblings. Currently, Odin is ready for a home with an experienced dog owner who could help him continue to learn how to be a well-mannered boy. Given a little more time, Odin will be pick of the litter!
