Lucky is a very special dog. He was turned in by his owners after owning him for 5 years "because they just could not take care of him anymore....". The owner surrender form indicates that he was kept outside his whole life. So when we got Lucky, he would twirl around on a leash! He was very inquisitive in the house. He was interested in little things like walking on a floor, or hearing a dishwasher for the first time.
Lucky is a changed dog. He is absolutley "happy go lucky!" He LOVES life and makes us laugh continuously. He has actually learned to love toys... so much that I buy him new ones every week because we get so much joy watching him be so happy. He loves our 2 year old shepherd male. They both play together so well. Lucky needs to be in an active lifestyle with another dog. He is very very good on a leash. He also gets along very well with our cats. He would best go to a home which has dog experience as we imagine he will have a trust issue when first adopted. It took him a while to adjust but he is doing so with leaps and bounds now!
Lucky, we get the feeling, was just not used to to love. We believe him to be tied up on a chain his whole life. He has bloomed into a wonderful, active, companion.
Please come see and visit this very special dog. We are working on some videos to put on Utube so you can see Lucky in action. He loves hikes, he loves to play, he loves even jumping in streams when we are hiking in the woods. Lucky has learned to sit, to come, to lie down (we are still working on the wait and stay command but this is coming very well). He is exceptional in a crate and very very good on a leash. He loves to run free and will stay attatched to home as he feels safe there.
When you see how far he has come in the short time we have had him, you realize how important it is to save dogs like this because in a way, we save ourselves thru loving animals like Lucky. If you are special and looking for a very special, happy, active dog, please come visit Lucky!
