Hello!! My name is Fancy, and I am an absolutely stunning long coated shepherd. I am a petite girl, and weigh about 50 pounds. I am about 4 years old, so this is about as big as I will get. My name really suits me, as I have a beautiful gait, and have a cute little bounce to my step. I am a bit on the shy side, but once I get to know and trust you, I am very loyal and devoted.
I absolutely love to play ball…it is my favorite activity. I will run after it as long as you will continue to throw it for me! I also love stuffed toys, and will prance around the house with one in my mouth most of the time. I get along well with other dogs, both big and small (proper introductions are a must)…I am currently living with 7 GSDs, a lab mix and 2 Shih Tzu’s!! I am also good with cats….there is one here at my foster home…I just ignore him completely. I walk well on a leash, and am completely crate trained. I have been started in training classes and am doing very well. I am very smart, and learn quickly. I am a bit nervous around children, so a home with no small children would be best. I have learned a lot from my fur friends, so a home with another friendly dog would be ideal to help me build my confidence.
From Foster Mom: Fancy is a very, very sweet dog. Unfortunately, it is speculated that she was abused earlier in life. She is nervous around new people, and startles easily. Once she trusts you, she is devoted. Fancy will look to her human for guidance and reassurance and direction. She loves to be near her people and will follow you around everywhere. Fancy is very smart and is food motivated. She trains very easily, and corrects easily with positive reinforcement. Fancy is somewhat hand shy, and does not like it when people shout. A large crate is a must for Fancy….it is her safe place….if she gets nervous or anxious, she puts herself in her crate. Fancy has made tremendous progress in gaining her self confidence by interacting with other dogs. I think she picks up on a lot of appropriate behavior from them, so a home with a confident friendly dog will probably help her develop into a well rounded dog. Fancy is a lot of fun to be around. She has tremendous enthusiasm for anything you want to do. She will watch you intensely, and is just so happy to play ball or go for walks. She rides very well in a car, and even allows herself to be washed without any fuss. Fancy is very quiet and calm in the house. She rarely barks at all. Fancy is a wonderful dog who needs an experienced and patient owner willing to show her how good life can be!
